That darn Beeper… Ridding yourself of the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps.

If you’re anything like me, you hate device sounds. I’m not talking about the sounds we intentionally cause our instruments/computers/etc… to produce. Im talking about the beeps, clicks, and pings that said devices make in response to our using them. iPhone? Keyboard clicks. MacBook? Volume change “bloops”. MalletKAT? Beeps. Unlike the other devices though, getting to the Beeper On/Off menu can be tricky or, in my case, downright frustrating.

In a previous post, I shared how to access the third octave controls on a 2-octave Express. If you need to do learn that first, you may access it here.

Once you’re accessing those controls, you need to enter the Global Auxillary Menu. Using the “Forward” and “Reverse” buttons located underneath the onboard screen, scroll through the option until you find “BEEPER”. When displaying on the screen, use the “INCrement” and “DECrement” buttons to cycle through “On” and “Off”.

Congratulations! You’ve now successfully turned off the annoying Beeper function on your MalletKAT!
