The Earliest Crow
It’s been almost 4 months since Cronos was launched and just 1 hour and 27 minutes later, CRO CROW #1 was minted: the first ERC721 token on Cronos.
In those 4 months, we have learnt a lot and built one of the most chill and welcoming communities on Cronos. Sadly a lot of the other projects launched on the 8th of November didn’t share the same fate.
In this article we intend to share some light on what is going on behind the scenes and what you can expect for CRO CROW for the next 3 months, and even further beyond.
Mad Meerkat madness
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be taking part on the Under One Roof Initiative by Mad Meerkat!
If you own a Mad Meerkat TreeHouse, you will be able to stake CRO CROWs for a 3.5% increase on $MAD per CROW staked.
We will also adding utility to the $MAD token with one of our upcoming breeding mechanics. More information about this below!

Team is expanding
We started as a team of 3:
- destruction.eth (me): lead of the project, running discord and twitter, smart contracts, ipfs
-alemf.eth: main artist, drew all the crows, airdrops, logo, and helps with everything else design related
-kinsyu.eth: web developer, built everything under crocrow.com
Sadly after a while, our web developer didn’t have enough time for the project and had to leave for work and life reasons, so that has left me in charge of the whole socials and dev work.
I have been working on learning how our current website works and rebuilding it from scratch with some awesome devs and hopefully they will be ready to join the project very soon, we have also received a lot of offers from our community members who would like to get involved.
Expanding the team is our main priority at the moment and will be the first thing we do.

Website rebuild and improvements
Since we’re completely rebuilding the website from scratch, we are taking our time to improve on everything we can regarding UI/UX, and at the same time building a scalable and clean code that will work as a very comfy foundation for all the extra functionality that is coming to CRO CROW.

5% Royalty for holders
We intend on building a system that will funnel Royalties directly to holders. It will work in a decentralized way, with no need for the team to send the royalties but rather an automatic system where each holder can claim their royalties whenever they want.
The smart contracts are ready to be deployed, and this will be the first thing we do after our website rebuild, there will be a nice interface for claiming royalties smoothly, even for CRO CROW whales.
We believe this will be a nice little extra and will allow our holders to get some income by just holding the NFT.
When: Less than one month
Staking, the forest, twigs, nests and breeding madness!
We intend on building a small derivative game that will allow holders to send their crows to ‘The Forest’ (staking) and they will slowly gather twigs, an ERC20 token.
Those twigs can then be spent to build nest NFTs (ERC721) and that will be a new collection on itself and our base utility layer for breeding.
We have teamed up with the Mad Meerkat team to add utility to their $MAD token: You will be able to spend $MAD to breed CROWS! This will be our first breeding mechanic. Pure madness!
There will be more ways to breed that we will slowly release, and we also intend on building breeding mechanics exclusive for CRO CROW aswell as in collaboration with other Cronos projects.

Below this point are some of the longer term plans we have in mind for CRO CROW.
Metaverse / Virtual Worlds
We’re considering some options for building some experiences for CRO CROW in the metaverse. This is not confirmed as it’s still too early to decide. Below are some of our options:
NFT Worlds
NFT Worlds are Minecraft compatible NFTs that act as worlds where you can play and build pretty much anything you want.
I’ve been playing Minecraft for a long time and built server plugins before.
I currently own World #3859 and wouldn’t mind making it the home for CRO CROW in the future, if we end up going for it!
TheCronosVerse
TheCronosVerse is a metaverse project currently being built for Cronos and we still don’t have a lot of information about how it will work but it could be a nice opportunity to build something nice for CRO CROW and we will try to purchase some land once it’s launched and see what can be done with it.
CROWPUNKS
CROWPUNKS is a cross-over project we made between Cronos Punk and CRO CROW, allowing you to breed 2 CROCROWs to create a CROWPUNK EGG, that eventually hatches into a CROWPUNK, if you own a Wrapped Cronos Punk.
At the time of writing this, 1693 out of the 3500 max have been minted. We intend on publishing attribute rarity charts and ranking once they have all been minted out.
Wrapping up
Lot of exciting things coming for CRO CROW and I’m extremely excited to see where this project goes, also I want to thank everyone on the discord who keeps giving ideas, feedback and positive vibes on the chat, it really means the world and really helps us to keep going!
