Wow. Just……wow.

Am I the only person who works with very young children for a living, who sees the multiple flaws in this entire endeavor?

It looks lovely in print, but SEL in real life is NEVER so scripted, not even with a teacher leading role playing. It’s messy, it’s organic, it’s multisensory. It involves learning to recognize and respond to social cues like body language and tone of voice and facial expression. It involves tapping into kids’ innate “soft skills” and working with the hard-wiring that’s already there, waiting for HUMAN interaction.

I’m sorry, but reading this…. I just can’t even. :-(
