Crust Network Maxwell1.0 Open Test Net Launch
Today is a milestone day for Crust Network. Crust Network’s first open testnet Maxwell 1.0 is officially launched. Everyone can make token transaction, guarantee and storage through the nodes on the testnet, also storage resource providers can run the storage mining as a node as well.

What is a Testnet?
A testnet is a stage used to test and optimize technologies and products. The purpose is to find and fix possible problems under a certain scale of testing before the Crust Network mainnet goes live. Therefore, the open testnet is public for everyone to access and use. Crust’s codebase is also open source and free. Anyone can install the software and use our network and products.
Important Notes
- Testnet tokens hold no value. Testnet tokens will not be able to be exchanged for CRU or listed for sale.
- Crust protocol still in development, your support on bug reporting and code improvement will be appreciated.
Function Info:
1. Transactions
Hold test tokens and make the transfer.
- On 「Crust Apps」(link:apps.crust.network).
- Integrated in Crust Cloud, which will be released in mid-Aug.
2. Running a Node
Provide storage resources and become a node on the Crust network. For details, refer to “Crust Maxwell 1.0 Test Network Node Setup”.
3. Guarantee
Follow the Guidance Wiki to create the account on Test Net and get the test token, then you can make guarantees on nodes, and obtaining the guarantee income from the nodes.
- On 「Crust Apps」(link:apps.crust.network).
- Integrated in Crust Cloud, which will be released in mid-Aug.
4. Storage
Crust Cloud app will be released in mid-Aug, you may use Crust Cloud to make storage in Crust Network.
About Crust Network
CRUST implements the incentive layer protocol for decentralized storage. It is adaptable to multiple storage layer protocols such as IPFS, and provides support for the application layer. Crust’s architecture also has the capability of supporting a decentralized computing layer and building a decentralized cloud ecosystem.
In March 2020, Crust got open-sourced and first alpha testnet was launched. Meanwhile, Crust Network joined the Substrate Builders Program, Web3.0 Bootcamp, and received Web3 Foundation Grant. Crust is a decentralized cloud storage project integrated with blockchain technology, vision is to build a decentralized cloud ecosystem in web3.0 age.
