“We would probably get registered as a broker dealer and then an Alternative Trading System,’’ Kraken CEO Jesse Powell announced. He also highlighted the importance of knowing which digital coins are securities and how to trade them legally. Kraken hopes to derive all the necessary info and support from the regulator before making the final decision to register with SEC.

Blockchain technologies can ensure a breakthrough in high-cost cargo tracking. Logistics giant FedEx sees the main draw of the concept in the permanent ledger which will greatly simplify across-the-world shipments by providing crucial transparency and reducing the number of disputes, and hopes to capitalize on the opportunity.

Tom Lee, head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors, expects Bitcoin price to skyrocket following the Consensus 2018 conference in New York. Lee pointed out that Bitcoin’s price increased by 69% during last year’s conference and by 138% over the two following months. “Bottom line: We expect bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to behave similarly to prior years and rally during Consensus,” Lee stated.

  • The first blockchain smartphone is expected to ship this year

Android OS pioneer HTC is planning to blaze new trails — this time, with blockchain technologies in mind. The company’s newest announcement, Exodus, is a smartphone that can serve both as a mobile connecting point for decentralized networks and as a crypto storage device.

  • TapJets considers accepting crypto payments

TapJets, “the Uber of airline travel”, is on the verge of adding crypto coins as a payment option. Now that altcoins are becoming more and more appealing, TapJets is determined to select the right coin for future payments through a Twitter query. Litecoin, Ripple and Verge are the considered candidates.
