Crypterium’s new crypto-fiat solution, a cyber battle, blockchain cruise and more. Here’s your Friday round-up of our top stories from the last week

Pay with crypto on-the-go

Just as we promised, not a week in August have gone by without our team introducing a new feature in our app. The latest one allows you to top up your Skype, Viber and Steam accounts using bitcoins. Purchase a voucher with BTC through our app, go to your Skype/Viber/Steam account, paste your voucher code and refill your account! Yes, it is that simple!

Cyber battle

This is a survival story based on real events. That’s how it could’ve started if we were to make a movie out of it. This week, Crypterium fought off a massive DDoS attack that peaked at 250K requests per second. For the sake of comparison: it’s like 10 million users trying to access the app at the same time.

What makes the story even more dramatic is that WE ordered the attack ourselves. Why was it a good idea? Be sure to read an incredible story on Hackernoon.

Crypterium joins John McAfee and Roger Ver at CoinsBank Cruise

Crypterium has another amazing event planned ahead — the project’s management team headed by Marc O’Brien is going to a cruise through the Mediterranean. No, you got it wrong — we are not having a vacation. Along with top blockchain speakers (John McAfee, Roger Ver, Bobby Lee, Tone Vays) and 2,500 crypto fans, we are attending CoinsBank Mediterranean — a global blockchain conference aboard the luxurious cruise vessel. Feel free to say hello to Crypterium if you are there and attend a presentation about the project that Mark O’Brien is going to deliver.

Keep discovering the diverse world of crypto

Canada comes up among the first results when you search for countries that are leading the crypto movement. Innovative Canadian initiatives like QuadrigaCX and Ethereum have seen spectacular success. A look at its stock market shows that the country is getting the world’s first crypto brokerage desk. At the same time, the government is trying to figure out how to monitor transactions using Blockchain. What we are saying is that if you haven’t read our latest WorldCrypto Map installment dedicated to Canada, you have an interesting journey ahead!
