I’ve previously written articles on CSC to aid new players, a Guide to the First Fleet ships and an analysis on the 2nd Series of the Crate Sales (Weapon Crates). Links to my previous articles are below.

The entire CSC community has been waiting patiently for details pertaining to the Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crates Sale. Well we finally have it!

The Official CSC Medium account published this article. I’ve taken this article and analysed the crates, the ships, the numbers and hopefully you’ll all find this helpful. The sale starts on August 29th 2019.

The CSC Star Trek™ Article also has details regarding the 1 of a kind Auction Sales for the 6 Unique Star Trek™ Sales. These Unique ships will be sold in a Dutch Auction Format starting at $200,000 each. I’ll cover this part of the Star Trek™ Divergence Event in another article (and update the details in my First Fleet and Unique Ships article here).

The details of the Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crates are as such:

  • Only 10,000 Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crates will be on sale.
  • The sale starts on August 29th 2019.
  • Every crate will contain 1 Star Trek™ ship and 4 Star Trek™ modules.
  • Only Galactic Federation Credits (GFC) will be able to be used to purchase the Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crates.
  • One Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crate will cost 2500 GFC ($25 each).
  • There is a 10% chance to receive a Star Trek™ ship that is better than the standard U.S.S. Rio Grande NCC-72452 runabout (90% of crates will have this smallest Star Trek™ ship).
  • The Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crate sale will end on October 3rd 2019. Any remaining crates will be burned at this point.
  • A maximum of 10,000 Star Trek™ ships will be sold through the sale.
  • A maximum of 40,000 Star Trek™ modules will be sold through the sale.

A lot of players and hopefully new Star Trek™ fans joining the game will be very interested in obtaining the Star Trek™ ships. No doubt, that is my goal too! Knowing that I have a 10% chance of opening a crate with a U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Class Starship, a U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Starship, an I.K.S. Rotarran IKC-62127 Class Starship, a U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 Starship or a U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 Starship is incredibly exciting and enticing! Personally, I have always been a big Trek fan, DS9 and Voyager were my favourite series, so owning a Defiant or a Voyager would be amazing!

Players will only be able to purchase crates from the Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crate sale using GFC. This CSC currency can be obtained from the CSC Website here using either Ethereum (ETH), US Dollars and many other currencies (also accepting PayPal, and Credit Cards from >100 countries). To purchase any crates, you’ll need a CSC account. If you don’t have one already, then please consider signing up to CSC through my link in this article, as I receive a 5% referral — https://www.csc-game.com/?cmdRef=5d2e3ae462d3aa

The exact numbers of each Star Trek™ ship in the crate sale are known, and therefore the percentage chance of opening a crate with a specific ship in it can be calculated.

The Enterprise from the Original Series Details

  • 60 x U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Class Starships
  • 115 x U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Starships
  • 275 x I.K.S. Rotarran IKC-62127 Class Starships
  • 275 x U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 Starships
  • 275 x U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 Starships
  • 9,000 x U.S.S. Rio Grande NCC-72452 Starships

Captain Picard’s Enterprise-D from Star Trek TNG

Interestingly, the classic Enterprise from the Original Series is the most scarce. Only 60 available from 10,000 ships in total. I’d have expected the larger Enterprise-D to be the hardest to obtain from crates (the Enterprise-D is a Prometheus Class ship in CSC, whilst the classic Enterprise is a Corsair sized ship).

I’ve collated the information into a handy table above. The most common ship will be the Runabout sized (Scout Class in CSC) the U.S.S. Rio Grande from Star Trek™ Deep Space 9. The Defiant, the Rotarran (a Klingon Bird of Prey) and Voyager are the next most populous, and the mathematics/RNG suggest that after buying 36/37 crates there should be 1 of each of these ships found. The largest ship, the Enterprise-D (Captain Picard’s ship from Star Trek™ The Next Generation) would be expected to be found in 1 out of every 87 crates bought. Finally, as previously mentioned, the most scarce (and therefore most sought after) ship is the original Enterprise flown by Captain Kirk/Spock/Scotty/Bones et al. There are only 60 of these to be found in crates and they are expected to be found in 1 in every 166–167 crates.

With each crate being $25, it is obvious to me, as with any loot box system, that some people will be lucky and some unlucky. It is unlikely, but possible to only purchase 1 x Star Trek™ Standard Supply Crate and get a Defiant, Rotarran, Enterprise, Voyager or an Enterprise-D. Unfortunately, some players may be unlucky too. That is the risk that any players purchasing will have to take.

The Defiant from DS9.

In my opinion, with the scarcity of these ships, and the fact that they also have 4 Star Trek™ modules in each crate, they are worth it, and I’ll be buying some loot boxes. These modules, unlike other CSC standard modules, will not be craftable. So in theory, should be a good investment. Please understand, that the crate sales do not guarantee profit, and as ever this is certainly not investment advice.
