Dion is the name of the rare and elusive Voeltzkow chameleon. Dion changes her skin color to camouflage herself with her surroundings, by changing her skin color to resemble the color of where she is standing or nearby objects. But Dion also changes the color of her skin to show her reaction to changes in temperature or light intensity around her or to indicate her mood. Usually each Dion has a different purpose for changing skin color. The bright color combination is a sign that Dion has strength in her place.
Dion also has sharp eyesight. In addition, most species have very long and sticky tongues. This tongue is used to catch insects that are flying or perching nearby. Dion catches insects by opening their mouths and sticking out their long, sticky tongues towards their targets, then the insects stick to their tongues which are then pulled back into their mouths. Its range is two-thirds the length of its entire body.
