Get home around 5:45, finish cooking dinner or (if it’s my husband’s night to cook) hang out with the kid until dinner. Dinner with a three-year-old takes a long time, did you know that? They like to get up and walk over to the window, you have to remind them about eating with a fork, you have to pretend to be their stomach and talk about how delicious all the food on their plate actually is, if they would just try it. Sometimes there’s a bath afterwards. After bedtime, some prestige tv with husband and then I spend the rest of the night either doing reading for my CFP classes (estate planning is complicated, yo), prepping dinner for the following night or reading for pleasure.
Also, Billfolders will appreciate that I have a literal checklist affixed to my wall that if I start it by 10 (it includes things like doing dishes and refilling the Brita pitcher) I am basically guaranteed to get in bed by 10:30.
