Not long ago we started a cooperation with Coinpaprika, a cryptocurrency market research platform, which provides a huge amount of data, but still is very understandable and easy to use. In November at Malta Blockchain Summit we were giving a mutual interview about our new partnership to Santiago Molins, crypto-enthusiast and consultant, correspondent of criptonoticias.com. We decided that it would be interesting for you to see the result and maybe find out something new about both of these platforms. So pull down the page and start reading!

What is it the announcement you would like to make?

Paula: We would like to announce today the partnership we are starting with Coinpaprika. They have incorporated in their website CryptoMood’s news feed. From now when their users will have available the latest news from the cryptocurrencies that are covered by the website, once they look for further details for example for Bitcoin, they will find the latest news in the news feed that is placed right below the pricing chart.

Can you explain to us how CryptoMood works? Also, if you have some statistics regarding the amount of information you are processing right now.

Paula: Currently, we are analyzing data from more than 50.000 sources, our sentiment analysis is powered by AI and Machine Learning. This means we are analyzing what is being said in the major social media channels like Twitter, Reddit, Youtube, Telegram, crypto news websites, and crypto blogs, in order to provide a sentiment score to each of the most significant tweets, articles, posts, etc.

This analysis all together will provide an overview of the mood of the crypto market to the traders, which they can potentially use to get early trading signals and for instance make better trading decisions.

Can you explain briefly what is Coinpaprika doing?

Mike: Coinpaprika is a website dedicated for reliable research of data about the crypto space. We collect all the data that we can get in the internet, from user feeds, Reddit, Twitter, news, exchange volumes. Basically, we are the website which is one of the most or the most reliable website now in the internet.

We are independent, we don’t do any advertisement, we have our own open API. Our API is used by the major financial institutions worldwide, for example Yahoo Finance used our data to build up their content.

CryptoMood and Coinpaprika are giving an interview about their new mutual partnership to Criptonoticias.com, which is one of the biggest Spanish speaking media outlets

What are the first implications of this partnership? The users of Coinpaprika what will be able to see?

Paula: This implies that Coinpaprika users, for example those users that are trading with want to know what’s happening with Bitcoin, what is being said about it they won’t have to do their own research into different news websites, blogs and any other source of information. From now on they simply can go to BTC website in Coinpaprika they’ll find there the News Feed and from there they can jump into the articles, post, tweets they are interesting in.

In summary, this means that the users/traders will start saving time/hours they were spending in doing their own research. Which is key for taking better trading decisions as they will get the data faster.

How do you decide which specific news and posts will appear at the top of the News Feed? Is it a customizable experience or it’s shown by default in a specific way?

Matt: In Coinpaprika in the News Feed the news by default are sorted by the time frames so the latest ones are shown at the top and the oldest ones at the bottom. We decided to do it this way because above you can find the price chart and we believe that if you see some changes in the price then you would like to see what caused it. To see if there’s any correlation or not.

You mention you have certain sentiment score. How does it work? Is it ranking from 0 to 10? Is this going to be implemented anytime soon in Coinpaprika?

Paula: The sentiment score goes from 0 to 10 and the algorithm that is behind, through AI and Machine Learning the headliners are analyzed, each word that is part of it has a weight and has its own value of the sentiment, so to make the final calculation this values are added together with their weights. We are analyzing the headliner because usually the main idea of an article is exposed in its headliner.

It is important to highlight that this doesn’t mean that an article or post is always either positive or negative, they can be neutral depending on the final score.

Mike: I believe that the users should have access to any information available to make their own decisions with the lowest risk of being disinformed. So, we are the product, the website which is providing them with everything that’s visible and the decision is always theirs.

Do you have any short time goals or announcement that you would like to say now?

Mike: Yes, actually is a very good timing because we’ve been working for more than a year developing our app. Which will be Coins by Coinpaprika plus wallets plus other features, so on Tuesday (13/11) within a couple of days we are opening the public beta of our app. So you can go to Coinpaprika website drop your email and on Tuesday we will be starting public testing, this is a huge milestone because after that in a couple of weeks we’ll be launching officially our app in the App Store and Play Store and this will be another pillar of our business, we will go mobile with additional features.

So, I invite you and encourage you to go to coinpaprika.com and get ready to test our app!

Are you focused in some regional market in particular? What is your approach to the Latin American market which is most of Criptonoticias audience?

Mike: First of all, we are very excited with that market because it’s gaining traction and basically it’s one of the most important parts of the crypto space right now. So, for us is very important to provide global costumers what they need. But also, we think about the project in the long term, now we have crypto but very soon there could other tokenized assets, like may be a stock exchange represented in blockchain. So, we are trying to build something that will give the Millennials and the financial users of that space a transparency and all past possible data to provide them comfort for their investments.
