Yes, this is yet another top crypto news site list, but hear me out.
The crypto market is fast-paced, action-packed and powerful. You can imagine that the news surrounding the market is just as impactful. As with most industries, there is a fair amount of shady people (assholes, if you will) that try to take advantage of unsuspecting people by releasing biased, deceptive, or just plain fake news and information.
Whether they are working with particular blockchain projects or just looking to spread FUD, they use their position as a news source to manipulate readers for their own benefit.
So Many Crypto News Sites To Pick From, Which One To Choose?
There are so many different websites that are clamoring to be the top news source for crypto traders and I am sure everyone has their own favorites. Today, I wanted to put out what I have found to be some of the best news websites for crypto I have found and use regularly. Here we go, in no particular order:
CoinTelegraph
So let’s start with one of the biggest in the market. CoinTelegraph is a staple news source for many in the crypto market. They see millions of readers visiting to read some of the many interesting stories about the latest breakthroughs in the crypto industry. I am not a particular fan of their art style but I do commend the quality.
Another thing I like is that the ads are not too intrusive on the reading experience. It is not uncommon to find a half-decent crypto news website only to find the whole thing is plastered with shitcoin ads.
If there is anything I did not like about CoinTelegraph, it is that some of the writing can get a bit boring. It can be a slog to read through a load of technical terms and acronyms on some of the more involved articles, but I guess that is to be expected when looking to crypto and blockchain tech.
Maybe a bit more personality in the writing would help. In the end, it is hard to go wrong with choosing CoinTelegraph for the latest news in the crypto space. They keep their Telegram up to date with the latest stories, which can come in helpful.
Coinspace
Coinspace is a new-comer to the crypto news market, but I am happy to see that they are coming in hot. I have been watching the Coinspace Telegram group grow from the beginning.
They seem to be a super friendly and attentive bunch and I hope they can keep that up as they continue to grow. This is one of the news websites that provides a much more holistic view of the market, not unlike coinmarketcap.
You can find all the latest data on the crypto market alongside some well researched and up to date news stories about anything from changes in legislation and adoption of crypto to exchange platforms and opinions from prominent figures. The design is clean and intuitive, which more than I can say about some others.
I understand that it is still in beta as of now, so I am hesitant to make too many conclusions. Sure, I encountered a few bugs here and there, but nothing that spoils the experience in any significant way. Time will tell how Coinspace will progress. I think their dual data and news approach will ultimately be their biggest strength by helping them provide insightful news pieces. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.
CoinDesk
Now it is just dawning on me how overused ‘coin’ is amongst these news websites. However, CoinDesk is another of the tried and tested players in the market. Like CoinTelegraph, CoinDesk has built up its readership through well-crafted journalism that covers all aspects of blockchain. There is a reason they are one of the most popular choices, after all.
They have dedicated sections for readers to learn more about crypto and for researching the market. Their content is categorized effectively too. If you know what you want to read, it is easier to find here.
What I hate about their website is that the design is incredibly frustrating. The overuse of what seems to be their signature blue color doesn’t make it particularly nice to look at. The layout of the homepage doesn’t seem to be well thought out either. I guess none of that matters too much when the news content is top-notch.
Overall, it is another competent crypto news website to check out. They don’t seem to use Telegram, so you would need to join the 831K or so followers on Twitter to get your crypto news/social media fix.
Bitcoin Magazine
Remember when people used to subscribe to and read magazines? I mean, many people still do, as is evidenced by the creation of a magazine dedicated to the relatively new ecosystem of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. It has been included on this list due to its more unique approach to the topic.
Here, you will find reviews for relevant tech, best practices when handling crypto, and other topics that you don’t find much elsewhere. Bitcoin Magazine easily has the most character and personality compared to the rest. You can see that for yourself on the Bitcoin Magazine Twitter account.
While it is rich in personality, it likely shouldn’t be your only source for the latest breaking stories (not that any of these should be). This choice works best as a complementary news source where you can see a different approach to everything going on in the market. If used in that way, then there is a lot to like about Bitcoin Magazine.
Here’s another curveball to end things on. While not a news website per se, it does congregate some of the best crypto news sources into one place. Looking for a specific topic or area? It very likely has its own subreddit and community where you can read and discuss related to that topic.
It is also the best when it comes to audience interaction. You will find that many comment sections on the more traditional crypto news websites are either half-dead or non-existent. On Reddit, conversations are encouraged, allowing for different perspectives to be shared.
Saying that, Reddit is no stranger to manipulation. It is not too difficult to get your website to the top of the subreddit and create a false sense of sensationalism around it.
Take everything with a grain of salt and all should be good. What it gains in variety and focus, it does lose in some features such as a dedicated crypto data section. If you know how to use it, then Reddit makes for a great news source.
