Current $YIELD compounding mechanics:
Currently, we have two different ways of compounding our $YIELD.
- $XYIELD: Stake your $YIELD tokens at the Banker for $XYIELD.
- Farming: Harvest produce, locked and unlocked $YIELD tokens, and Farmer XP.
Let's break it down.
$XYIELD:
Staking at the Banker (market-> banker) will turn your $YIELD into $XYIELD. $XYIELD accrues 1.5% of all Seed Pack roll costs and updates every second. At launch, 1 $XYIELD = 1.10 $YIELD, it has only been around 48 hours (as of this post), and 1 $XYIELD = 1.17 $YIELD. That’s a whopping 6.3% increase in 2 days.
The best part about staking at the Banker is that there is no locking period for your $YIELD. You can stake and unstake at any time without incurring any extra costs or fees.
Furthermore, by staking and racking up $XYIELD, you will be eligible to participate in $XYIELD snapshots for various kinds of rewards.
Farming:
Farming at the farm (farm -> farmer/plot) will turn your seeds (bought with $YIELD at vendor) into produce, locked and unlocked $YIELD and Farmer XP.
Produce: Produce will be used for future mechanics such as crafting and cooking that may provide various boosts to your time in CryptoValleys.
Farmer XP: Farmer XP will allow you to level your Farmer’s badge, presenting you with rewards at different milestones.
Finally, the big one:
Locked and Unlocked $YIELD
Pretty simply, locked and unlocked $YIELD tokens will be distributed to the players. Here is a table for all crops’ locked and unlocked amounts.
Unlocked $YIELD can be freely used to buy more seeds, stake at the Banker, or swapped to ETH at the DEX.
Locked $YIELD cannot be freely used, and can only currently be unlocked by first unlocking the Sage NPC by leveling your farm to level 10. Once you have done so, you can unlock 1% of your locked $YIELD on a global weekly timer.
There will be different ways to increase % unlock of locked $YIELD such as NFT staking. Fear not, there are also ways to unlock locked $YIELD without needing to increase your farm level to level 10
If you aren’t aware, Locked $YIELD rewards are subjected to a decrease in multiplier bonus as the project ages and develops to other means of producing $YIELD for the user.
If there’s a time for farming, it would be NOW! We currently have the greatest ROI that farming will provide.
Week 0:
Compared to Week 19+:
By farming in Week 0, you are looking at an expected increase of 3.3x to your initial investment. While farming in Week 19+ will still grant you a positive increase in your investment, it simply cannot be compared to how powerful farming currently is.
TLDR?
Staking $YIELD to $XYIELD will net you smaller returns with hassle-free transactions. Whereas farming now will net you a monstrous amount of $YIELD for you to play with in the near future.
