I can only speak on my own experience but I once dated solely toxic men. It’s a pattern for some people who accept the love they think they deserve and for me it was rooted in childhood abuse and trauma. Dealing with that involved me taking accountability and stock of my own shortcomings and working on myself. I know I lived in a victim mode for a long time and getting out of that mindset was not easy. Abusive people will continue to be abusive no matter what but I have come such a long way in being able to figure out how to steer clear of familiar patterns.
