Had Bernie been Bernadette — The heartbreaking truth about American patriarchy
Lauren Besser

Goodness, girl — so many words, so much angst. Doesn’t it boil down to the candidate whose beliefs are most aligned with mine, and who gives a voice to those beliefs?

I will admit — the first female president would be something — but not this female, not now. IMHO, Hillary lacks qualities I would like my president to possess (regardless of gender): consistency of message, ability to showcase good judgment and decision-making skills, transparency.

There is not much subterfuge to Bernie — his message has been consistent; his judgment, decisions, votes reflect his core beliefs. Beyond that, he inspires and this nation is in need of inspiration from her leaders. But for me, the indicator, he has captured the attention of young adults — the future of the country.

No, there’s no angst — move past the woman president thing — join the revolution. Bernie.
