I Need You To Move Out

Finding the courage to end a toxic relationship

I don’t have the courage to tell you. I was hoping it was clear.

I broke up with you last September which somehow you don’t remember. I remember so vividly.

You remained in my house and as though we are together.

I carried on not wanting to disrupt our children’s lives with your absence.

I broke up with you in January and you remained as though the conversation never happened.

I broke up with you in April, now it is September.

I need you to move out.

Each morning I wake up I cycle through toxic, harbored feelings of you.

The shoes you once again left in the middle of the doorway. The toilet seat you neglected to close. The bill you left unpaid for me to cover.

The way you cupped my breast unwantedly in the middle of the night. The one-sided, emotionless sex you woke me up to have because I didn’t speak up and tell you, “no”.

The dishes you left in the sink. The piles of “stuff” you collect in every corner of the house, my house. The constant assumptions you make that cost me emotional labor to correct.

The neglect you hold for my things and the remebrance of brokeness that remain. The lack of responsibility for every parenting role we share.

The fact that I am a coward for not telling you…

I need you to move out.

I have put on weight since you’ve been here. I’m sure you can see. Maybe you haven’t because I don’t know if you really look at me.

If you did, you could clearly see…

I need you to move out.

My business is no longer growing.

Its hurting me financially.

I am a mom of three.

I need you to move out.

I’m spiritually trapped and need to break free.

I need to find the courage.

I need to love me.

I need you to move out.

Im sure the kids will be hurt.

Maybe they’ll be angry at me.

I don’t want to hurt anyone.

I wish happiness for others while painfully neglecting me.

I need you to move out.
