If you run
npm run dev , it should run inside of electron, not a browser. (
npm start would run in a browser). In the repo’s README, there is an example of another reader’s use of electron-builder. https://github.com/vicentedealencar/electron-with-create-react-app/commit/f1729381d588e65ac140ce5a08cc6277babd9641
Thanks. It can be hard to justify refactoring to some and still harder to find the time. While you probably know this well, I think it is very hard to generate support for refactoring if the engineering leadership doesn’t support it. Without that, there are too many practical reasons for people to avoid it.
Your are right there are lots of tradeoffs. 6MB Payload limit, the cold starts you mentioned, route name limitations, etc. But I think that would a separate article. I was focussing on authentication integration and the basic use case of a serverless approach.
