That’s Kokie, my fur baby. I love him to death & sometimes become very jealous of him.

Why?

Because it seems as if he always gets the luxury to live in the moment.

No big plans except for bathroom breaks, food, & cuddles.

The good life .

This doesn't mean I would rather be a dog, it just means I feel like we as humans should also work harder on becoming present.

Which leads me to ask.....

What's on your mind today?

Do you have anything big coming up in the calendar?

Has something been bothering you?

These are all questions that have one thing in common. They take you away from the present moment.

Often times we have so many things to focus on, we tend to neglect what's happening to us this very moment. Depending on what your goals, not being present & forgetting to enjoy the process can be detrimental to your results.

This is something I struggle with daily as I'm constantly looking for the next big thing I can do. Something that I've recently began doing to bring me back into the present moment is writing it down in my Evernote Journal & placing it on my phone's home screen. Whether or not you agree, I believe our cellphones are our biggest enemy when it comes to distraction & taking us out of the present (social media, texting, internet, etc...). So I've tried to flip the script by placing the journal on my phone & to use it as a reminder to not get so distracted. We'll see how this works.

No matter the method, taking the initiative to become more mindful within the present will shed a brand new light on the way you look at things & who knows you may learn a few new things about your surroundings that had been there all along.

You may ask, "Why is Chris going on a rampage about being present?" "He's only here to help with my exercise & nutrition."

Negative ghost rider, I'm here to try & help you in life. In my eyes it all translates & molds together. For this instance in regards to being present, just think about working out or eating.

If you're training while your mind is elsewhere your chances of injury go way up due to your lack of focus on form. But if you're focused on each rep, you'll not only decrease your chance of injury, the quality of your workout will probably be much higher as well. You'll feel those muscle groups working & really get that endorphin rush most of us love.

If you're eating a meal while watching tv or scrolling down your social media fees, you will probably eat much more than you actually need. This is due to distraction which can cause you to completely ignore the signals your body will send you when it's satisfied, leaving you overfed & probably a little sluggish. But if you actually pay attention to the food, chew it more, enjoy the taste & think about what you're putting in your body, you'll be more likely to eat less & hopefully higher quality foods.

So I guess you could say I'm still preaching health & fitness with this, but I really want you to know that I want to help you optimize your quality of life (this is why I called the Facebook Group Life Optimization 😜). This means I want you to come to me with any questions or struggles you're going through in life that you feel comfortable talking about & understand that I can learn just as much from you as you are from me.

I'm here for you.

Together we can build an Empire.

P.S.

Show me some love by hitting the heart in the lower right corner (I think that’s where it is) or by sharing this on your page 😀.
