We think about the future so much that we forget to pay attention to what we have now. The future makes us anxious because we keep thinking what is going to happen next.

Everything that we do and everyday that we live is in constant worry about the future. And by doing this we put a lot of expectations on our future self. We have this image of the perfect future in minds and we do nothing to actually work towards it because we’re not even living in today.

This expectation of where you should be does not let you be where you are. Be where you are first and enjoy the things you have here. This day today will add to your future.

The What If’s stop us from doing what we want to do. What if I fail? What if I am not good enough? What if it hurts? And because of these possibilities of the unwanted, we never even start working on the wanted.

This possibility mindset can be explored from a different perspective altogether, the one that helps us. How about we change the perspective just a little? We can stick to the ‘What If’ but turn it in our favour.

So whenever you start to question yourself and lay the burden of a whole lot of these ‘What if’ possibilities on you, ask yourself “What if it’s better than I imagine it to be?”

Having faith keeps us going. Faith in ourselves, faith in each other and faith in the Universe. But there’s a difference between faith and false hopes.

We need to understand that we cannot set a timeline to our dreams. We’re already on a timeline and everything will happen for us according to it. So if we say, “Everything will get better”, that’s faith but if we say “Everything will get better by the end of the week”, that’s false hope. Because if it does not go well this week, you will feel miserable.

False hope makes you feel dejected and miserable and sad because there was an expectation attached to it. Faith, on the other hand, keeps you going on the worst of your days simply because you’re not expecting anything. You’re believing.

DEALING WITH CHANGES

One thing that we’re all very afraid of is change. Nobody likes changes. Changing means leaving our comfort zones. And that is something we resist from doing.

But change is a part of our lives, one that can’t be avoided. They say that change is inevitable. Changes will happen. Whether we like it or not. From our childhood till now, we’ve experienced so many changes. We’ve made friends, we’ve left them. We’ve moved to new surroundings. And if we look at it now, we’ll realise that it happened for the best.

We grow because of changes. We’re as good as ghosts if we’re living a life that does not has changes. We must embrace change and view it in a positive sense, and be ready to accept the changes that keep coming our way. That’s the only way we can ensure our growth.
