Slack is amazing, but will its success destroy any semblance of work/life balance we have left?
Matt Galligan

Our startup team uses hipchat and over the course of the last two years, I’ve definitely felt the hit on my health. I oversee the development in three timezones which means either making myself available at all hours (developers tend to enjoy working late at night) or becoming the roadblock to progress. This is a well-timed article. I dig the suggestions you presented, particularly the verbiage used when the do not disturb notification is on. I think (hope) infusing that kind of language will force people to think a little harder before they hit that send key.
