Hi Petar. I agree that ads have been the cause of a lot of trouble on the internet, and I also hope that cryptocurrency micro-transactions can reduce the web’s reliance on advertising revenue long-term. I don’t think that will have significant traction soon, and more importantly, we want the barrier to entry for using Lunyr to be as low as possible. So while contributors will have to figure out how to use some cryptocurrency features, by serving ads, readers will not need to know anything about cryptocurrency.

I also don’t think advertising is inherently evil. In its essence, it’s just somebody paying to attempt to get your attention.
