CSNYC was founded to serve all 1.1 million students in the New York City public school system. We stand with the NYC Department of Education in affirming the rights of all children to attend public school regardless of immigration status, national origin, religion, and any other protected status.

We also oppose executive orders that close the door to immigrants and refugees. More immigrants call NYC home than any other US city, and that’s one of the many reasons that NYC is a great place to live, work, and go to school.

Moreover, if we want to grow our local tech sector, we need to give our students the skills that young people learn in other countries. Meaningful computer science education for all students is critical to building a diverse workforce and developing universal computational literacy.
