What I’m Passionate About?
Code, more code, and code the builds cool shit! Ok I might be passionate about code but I am also passionate about alot of other things.
But since I am a developer lets talk code first
So, I am a Junior Level Programmer, I am a Ruby newbie. I started on the road to learning Ruby about 6 months ago in my free time and then I decided to take it full time with the Iron Yard Academy. I have learned so much and I know this is a only the beginning. Working with Ruby has been a pleasant experience and a great entry into programming. With that I started to venture in learning Python, from what I learned not too much different then Ruby’s syntax.
I have a strong desire to be a great front end developer as well, so I am starting to venture out to learning more about Angular.js and Node.js.
I am currently working on a project, largest one to date. It is a “homework tracker” for students to submit their homework to a their teacher. I definitely didn’t want to bootstrap the project and wanted to continue to sharpen my HTML/CSS skills. It can get frustrating at times with CSS but I also have learned alot and glad I am marking it up myself verse bootstrapping it myself.
Ok, enough about code what else am I passionate about!!
Huge cornhuskers fan— Since I hail from Nebraska, I am a die-hard to the core, probably take it too seriously but hey I love the Red “N” on the side of our helmets.
Start up companies — I love start ups! I love the passion and people behind them. It’s amazing to see what a group of passionate people can build. I look forward to one day either having my own start up or definitely working at one.
Company Culture — Yuuuup! I care about where I work and who I work for. If your company culture is shitty, so probably are the people working there from a leadership standpoint. I don’t need crazy benefits to get me to work at your company, but giving a dam about who your employee’s are matters.
