Airbnb’s racism problem is much bigger than a few racist hosts.
David Robinson

I rent out a room below my house and rented to one AA female “student” and she brought her boyfriend in when it was clearly allowed that no one else was to move in. They smoked pot all the time and it seeped through my house. I later found out that the male was arrested for selling pot and carrying a gun. I was scared for my life when I kicked her out. My black neighbor even told me not to rent to blacks ever! The growing problem is that black people as a whole need to stop doing the stereotypical things so we can stop judging. I now rent to a white male techie and he’s been the best renter ever. We are taught in Oakland to be aware of our surroundings and when I let my guard down and try to “free my mind”, it happened.
