INTRODUCING KAKAROT PROTOCOL, THE CORNERSTONE OF ZK-EVM ADOPTION ON THE STARKNET BLOCKCHAIN
WHAT IS KAKAROT ZK-EVM ?
The KAKAROT initiative was birthed on October 2002 with the aim of creating Zero Knowledge compatible Ethereum Virtual Machine on the Cairo Virtual Machine with just less than 10,000 line of codes. The goal was to rewrite & integrate the ZK-EVM code atop the Cairo native programming language.
It initially looked like an unconceivable idea at the onset, but with support from Cairo native Devs, Starkware and Starknet Foundation, this idea was able to materialize in just a few months. A Cairo native ZK-EVM was unveiled with just less than 5000 line of codes initially serving as a type 3 ZK-EVM with gradual transitioning to a type 2.5 ZK-EVM. Today, the Kakarot ZK-EVM boast of over 50 contributors with continuous plan in place to keep oiling the wheels in order to ensure wide spread adoption.
RECENT ACHEIVEMENTS & FUTURE PROJECTIONS
The KAKAROT-ZKEVM has continued to exceed expectations since the idea was heralded in 2002. Currently, solidity based Dapps are seamlessly able to integrate with Kakarot without the need to alter any prior line of codes, this also applies to Dapps written in other programming languages, thereby making Kakarot adoption easier.
The Kakarot Team isn’t taking a break, they are future projections of leveraging the advantage of the Modular nature of Kakarot to possible integration with L3 APP CHAINS on Starknet, making cryptographic security, scalability & fast transaction speed a priority.
