Another 82 game campaign, where 30 NBA teams strive to win a championship, make the playoffs, win a playoff series, etc. has now begun. Through that comes the debate of the top 10 NBA players for the season. This can ruffle feathers, as Sports Illustrated did by dropping Carmelo Anthony as the 37th best player. Melo might be a top 25 player, but I’m not here to discuss that. Here’s a look at the Top 10 NBA Players for the 2017–18 NBA Season.

Paul George Getting Ready For Action

10. Paul George

Last season, PG-13 did what he could with what he could. This season his role is going to be a challenge in the Western Conference on the defensive end, with stars like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, & James Harden, to name a few. Offensively things should be a breeze because, well he’s playing with the second best point guard in the NBA.

9. Chris Paul

Yes he micromanages the game but hey, he’s still a great point guard. His ability to score in pick and roll situations, get others involved is one of a kind. Not to mention he’s still doing it at 32 in his 13th season. Joining the Rockets was a solid option as he wasn’t going to get it done in Los Angeles as a Clipper. “You’re In Good Hands” -All State Insurance, the same can be said with CP3 running your offense. Houston Rockets WCF….

AD With The Off-Balance Jumper For 2

8. Anthony Davis

Okay, I argued he wasn’t going to be in my top 10, but after further thought here he is. STAY HEALTHY and who knows what might happen. A versatile big that can come off screens for the jumper, not many bigs can do that. Defensively he’s a beast winning NBA block leader in 2014, then in 2015 while snagging, NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2015 and last season.

7. Giannis Antetokounmpo

According to Kevin Durant during a Q&A, “The Greek Freak, I think, is a force. I’ve never seen anything like him,” Durant said. “His ceiling is probably … he could end up being the best player to ever play if he really wanted to. That’s pretty scary to think about. He’s by far my most favorite player to watch.” This season Giannis has been a force 34.7 PPG, 10.7 Rebs, & 5.5 Assists. He’ll be top five with a jump shot.

Woah Steph Where Are You headed?

6. James Harden

Yeah he stunk it up last year in the playoffs versus the San Antonio Spurs in Games 4 & 5. But outside of that he’s gifted. 53 points, 16 rebounds & 17 assists, he set history last season with that stat and is going to continue his success with CP3 running the show.

John Wall Wants No Parts

5. Russell Westbrook

After doing what he wanted last season, cue “Now I do What I Want” from Lil Uzi Vert’s mixtape “The Perfect Luv Tape,” averaging a triple double was ground breaking but his team didn’t make it out the first round. Westbrook’s speed is something from a video game, he plays like a running back, instead of running over defenders for touchdowns he crosses and blows by defenders for a vicious dunks and then glares at the crowd or opposing players.

Lobs To KD

4. Wardell “Steph” Curry

Who has more fun than Curry in the NBA? Seriously, this guy is damn near impossible to guard. He can shoot from 40 feet and can finish at the rim with the bigs. Just two seasons ago Curry was 5th in scoring in the restricted area, among bigs like DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside & LeBron James.

Cookies…

3. Kawhi Leonard

I stand by the notion that the Golden State Warriors were an ankle sprain away from a six game, maybe 7 game series with the Spurs. But Zaza Pachulia ended that idea in game one. Check this, Kawhi has more steals than fouls. Yup Kawhi has stolen the ball more times than he’s fouled other players according to Fade Away World. That proves how elite he is on defense. When he comes back from his injuries, look out.

Kevin Durant Is A Champion

2. Kevin Durant

“Iceberg Slim Shooting Treys from the suburbs.”-Jalen Rose. KD recently captured his first NBA Championship and Finals MVP. He’s turning things around defensively, as he led all Warriors players in field goal percentage allowed as primary defender, according to ESPN.

Clutch 3

1. LeBron James

His dominance in the NBA is continuing and doesn’t look to be slowing down. The Cleveland Cavaliers will win the East and In June, LeBron and the Cavs will be taking on the Golden State Warriors for Part IV! Not to mention this will be LeBron’s 8th straight appearance in the NBA Finals.
