One aspect about the part of the story where you write “You realize, “this isn’t the path I want to be on,” but then the phone rings, there’s somebody at the register, or you have to run to an appointment.” Is that many people actually do this to themselves too. How? Because many people forget that in order to make the transition from a career they do not want to do to one which they are passionate about it costs money. Saving is a huge key in this transition because there are costs that will pop up all over the place. I have worked with several people who wanted to “get out of the rat race,” but went out to lunch almost daily. Or they leased a new car every few years. By constantly having these obligations it limits the actual change you can bring into your life. I was the person who realized I did not want to work in the career I was in. I had to discipline myself and my home for two years to ensure the transition was able to happen. It all began with savings so when the transition took place I was able to keep my home in order. Excellent article, thanks for sharing.
