Blazing Saddles (1974) — Dir. Mel Brooks

Part of the Top 150 Films series

Hey, where the white women at? Stampeding cattle through the Vatican. What in the Wide World of Sports is a-going on here? Think of your secretary. I must have killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille. Fifteen is my limit on schnitzengruben. Rape, murder, arson, and rape. You said rape twice. I like rape. It’s not Hedy, it’s Hedley. Hedley Lamarr. What the hell are you worried about? This is 1874. You’ll be able to sue her. Now you men will only be risking your lives, whilst I will be risking an almost certain Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. (Completely deserved, by the way.) Mongo only pawn… in game of life. I’m so tired. In another twenty-five years, you’ll be able to shake their hands in broad daylight. My name is Jim, but most people call me… Jim. Head them off at the pass? I hate that cliché!
