PASINAYA 2016

Theme: Family and children

Pasinaya is an annual event in CCP. It is the largest multi-arts festival in the country. This year theme is “Family and children”. The event is composed of over 3,000 artists all performing along the art and culture mile between CCP Complex and Intramuros. It transforms the place into artistic place on Manila. It offers a unique “Pay what you can, See all you can” donation scheme as well as the opportunity to enjoy a sneak preview of CCP’s performance season for the year.
It is my first time to attend Pasinaya and I am grateful that I was able to witness this kind of event. It is a combination of arts, dance, theater, choral and ballet performances. In addition to the performances, there are workshops, film screenings, lecture-demonstrations, and exhibits spread throughout the following locations. In the third and fourth floor, different paintings, drawings and stitches were displayed. In the lower floor different choral performances and theater performances can be watched in the different theater room. In front of CCP different folk dances were performed. I was able to watch the Coro de San Benildo and I’m very proud of them. I was also able to watch different choral and theater performances and I was amazed by their great performance. You can also enjoy the foods around the CCP, and the big and colorful letterings of Pasinaya.

I only had a limited time that’s why I wasn’t able to watch all the performances and some performances have the same schedule. The event was so successful; you can see it in the joy and enjoyment that was brought to the viewers. This event is a learning adventure. You are enjoying but you are also learning. I am glad that Filipinos were unified to showcase their different talents in just one event. I’m looking forward to watch this kind of event again. My 20 pesos is so worth it to pay.
