Heads up- all the articles recently about roughnecks getting replaced with automation are written by people who know nothing about drilling rigs and are just repeating what they hear others like themselves say. The Iron Roughneck which recently has every website on the internet saying its replacing workers is wrong- the Iron Roughneck has been on drilling rig floors since the 70s- they do not replace workers- they are just a tool that makes the job safer and easier for workers…still requires the same number of workers… same goes for all the other “automation BS” its just people with no knowledge of drilling rigs wanting to write about something- so now you know…
