You are a strong person surrounded by weak people — they sense this — and delay. They have already fallen into their own mire.

Once there was a stream, curling down from the mountain, passing trees and lakes and eventually becoming a strong river, she reached the face of an impassible desert. The once stream, now river, appealed to the desert, “I must continue — how may I cross”. The desert, old beyond belief, had seen many ways paths and distilled her knowledge into a single response: “Dear River, once a stream, it is possible to pass me, but not as you are, you must evaporate with the sun, forgot your form, and follow the wind over me to the lands beyond, where you may once again return to your watery form.”

The once stream, now river, balked: “How can this be — there must be another way!?”

The old desert, soft and gentle, responded in kind: “Yes, though sadly it is not such an option as it may seem — instead of taking the sun and the wind and loosing your form to travel my vastness — you may stay, however if you stay you will sink, forming a pool below my surface, against the hard rocks and in this way you will become stagnant and trapped, though you will never have to let go, never have to face the sun and the wind, and never be evaporated, you also will loose your chance to cross my vast reaches”

The now river, once stream knew what to do and let go, stopped resisting the pull of the sun, stopped holding so tightly to her river form, and in the heat of the sun transformed, becoming anew, the wind carried her across the vast reaches of the desert, spread her far an wide high above the plains of sand and dune — until finally, availed of her form — she reached the great mountains on the other side of the desert. In this way her form gathered again in the likeness of her roots and she fell as rain becoming a stream against the rocks of this fresh mountainous height.

Best wishes on your journey!
