3D printing is just not a service it’s much more than that. It’s a package of innovation, creativity, inventions and development. I am sure we all have heard one or other interesting things about 3D printing and after coming a long way the question arises, what 3D printing has to offer in the future? Predictions about the future of 3D printing have always been a complicated task. Some analysts may still not be able to figure out what more this relatively new technology has to offer, but some, dealing closely with 3D printing know much more applications of 3D printing is anticipated in the near future. It is also true that 3D printing is not for everyone and not as easy as pressing the button of your computer. It requires file creation, understanding different 3D printing machines, post printing.

3D printing has an influence on almost all industries and many giant companies are investing to get best out of this technology. 3D printing provides the flexibility of tweaking and modification like no other. Availability of various materials is an added advantage and addition of metal materials has taken 3D printing to some other level. Although metal 3D printing is on its way to take off, I am sure soon it will touch horizons like none other.

Currently we have a number of low cost 3D printers available in the market. Initially many analysts thought of every home getting equipped with 3D printers but this did not go that way. It’s just not about printing but about the file that needs to be fed to the 3D printer and again not every low cost printer can produce the object with perfection that one may expect. Even printing larger parts is not a possibility with desktop printers. But opting for a 3D printing service company can be a solution to these problems. Surely 3D printing has progressed as expected but just not in the way we thought.

In the field of medicine 3D printing has wide spread, dental implants, bones and joints including skull and spine are being used for quite a long time now. But to develop 3D printed organs that can practically be transplanted in patients requires more research and time. This looks far but attainable.

Another area we can expect 3D printing to expand is local production for consumers and companies. As we know process of manufacturing and logistics takes quite a long time. Eventually we may be able to 3D print our parts closer rather than waiting for ever for the part to reach us, this can somehow help cutting some cost on warehousing. And I believe when we would be able to use 3D printing for full production that may be the point of transformation for manufacturing.

3D printing has already started having an influence on education system. Many schools, colleges and other educational institutions are either having 3D printers or employing 3D printing service to make learning more practical, informational and fun for students. With more involvement of 3D printing education system will change for better.
