Myths and stories from all throughout the world, but particularly from Nordic mythology, have been influenced by these vivid, brilliant lights that dance across the arctic regions’ dark skies.

The Aurora Borealis was thought to be the enchanted dance of the Nordic gods, according to Norse mythology. These shimmering lights in the sky were said to have been created by the gods, particularly the goddess of beauty Freya and the god of war Odin. It was thought that the bright lights in the sky would come from the sparks that flew from the gods’ battles when they drew their swords.

The Aurora Borealis was regarded in Norse mythology as a divine sign, a messenger from the gods to humanity. These brilliant lights were thought to be a sign of divinity present as well as the protection provided by the Nordic gods. At the time, people observed this celestial show in wonder and saw it as a sign of good fortune and divine protection.
