I totally agree with you in terms of the missing fact. The dollar amount was very much insignificant with respect to other deals, but all the info associated with the acquisition pointed to the tremendous lack of judgement coming from upper management. The capital invested was at best a gift, a waist, or simply a misguided use of company funds.
