Day 82
I bagged groceries for ten hours today, ran into a former Chinese teacher of mine’s, and vidchatted with a few APO peeps about designing a new website for Duke’s APO chapter.
I’m really excited about it! I think it’ll be a valuable learning experience for me, even if I only have a CompSci101 background.
Also, seeing so many families at H Mart while bagging groceries for the past three days has gotten me thinking about marriage.
According to the Pew Research Center’s reports, millennials don’t see much difference between living a single or married life. In other words, marriage doesn’t necessarily guarantee happiness.
I guess I’m kind of the same way.
While I view marriage as the ultimate promise to commit yourself to one person more fully, I don’t see it as necessary to have a fulfilling relationship with someone else.
If I’d followed my mother’s footsteps, I would’ve been married for a year by now.
Which is absolutely mindblowing to think about.
But everyone has a different pace for living their lives, so there’s really no pressure to be or act a certain way.
And that’s perfectly fine. Life’s more fun that way, anyways.
Not much more to talk about today, so bye!
