Day 83

I went to Hibachi, a Chinese buffet, with my mom and sister and then played Diablo for a while with my boyfriend.

I also scheduled rewatching Wonder Woman with a friend from H Mart on Thursday.

Lately, I’ve been suffering from a bit of writer’s and artist’s block. I used to be able to produce lots of comics and whatnot in my freetime, but now, I’m finding new ideas harder and harder to come by.

To alleviate my creator’s block, I’ve started reading The War of Art. It’s a very pithy book that helps motivate people to actualize their dreams, by transforming the imagined life they might be living into the life they’re actually living.

While it sounds almost too good to be true, I’ve decided to give it a try — try fighting “Resistance,” or that which threatens to keep me from doing the things I want to do.

It’s not simply laziness — it’s the reasons or excuses you give yourself to keep putting off your dreams.

I guess my biggest problem has been with my inner drive.

I need to specifically define my goals and create an action plan to address them.

First things first: fitness.

If I really want to lose weight in one month, I’ll have to dedicate myself to a stricter workout routine and a healthier diet.

This should give me more energy for doing everyday things, too.

Step 1: Set alarm for 7:00 in the morning.

Step 2: Prepare workout clothes the night before.

Step 3: Go to the park and run for at least half an hour.

Repeat routine on days without work.

To be more productive learning-wise, I’ll head to the library and work there instead of at home, where there are plenty of snacks around.

Hopefully this will be able to spur me into exercising more regularly. And I’ll post about the times I commit myself to exercising as a way to stay intrinsically motivated.

I’ll watch more TED talks and read more to motivate myself, too. And share the insights I gain from those here.

For now, I’ll read some more of The War of Art before calling it a night.

Bye!
