Very nicely put. As a person from the US Virgins, many people are experiencing this as an existential crisis. This is THE most dire it’s ever been — all three islands hobbled by two storms, and our big sister island Puerto Rico in even worse shape. When you’re on the mainland waiting on word from your people, it’s the waiting that gets you. But the emotional trauma of suffering through a storm like that — twice — goes unremarked. I hope your family is okay.
