Thought Bubbles: On Finding Your Fuel

I’d like to believe that we are all somewhat motivated in whatever it is that we do. Whether we are athletes, philanthropists, businesspeople, artists, laborers, whatever is it; we are motivated to do it well.

Each of us has a different reason for wanting to do well. Maybe they want to provide for their family, they want that new car, that new house, that new watch. Maybe they want to prove to all the naysayers that that have the ability to create something amazing and make something happen. Maybe they have a genuine desire to change many lives and help others.

Other’s motivation may have come from a place of deep insecurity. Maybe you were marginalized as a child, left out by your peers. Maybe you fear that you may never were able to connect with that girl or boy from your class. Maybe you’re terrified that you’ll never live up to your parents expectations. Maybe you’re terrified that you’ll never live up to your own expectations.

Whatever is it, as long as it is noble (no evil, world dominating fantasies), allow whatever you need to motivate you. Whether it comes from your past, your current situation or a hope for the future, let it motivate you. Your fuel is out there, fill up the tank.
