Many of us have experienced legit recruitment process with several exercises such as design challenges and white-boardings. For interviewees, it’s a chance to get to know what your might be doing in your future position, including the challenges you might have to solve, the skills or traits of this role the employers value, etc.

That’s where you can have a hunch of how much you might enjoy this future work from those exercises. A good design challenges for me is explorative yet inspiring. It’s not asking you to put hours of extra work into a new assignment but consolidate your experience and knowledge to tell your story.

One of my favorite challenge is: where you’d draw inspiration from? It could be a summary of books, a painting, a collage of images, or even a summary of any volunteer work. Via this ask, I know the employers welcome folks who are passionate about inspiring world, and believe the diverse points of view are key to make their initiative to succeed.

A great design challenge gets you butterflies in your stomach, and makes you want to share to interviewers soon. You’d be excited about this sharing because it’s beyond a job interview, but an expression of yourself as well as spreading interesting thoughts to others.
