I think creativity is something that you can’t really turn off, but it’s also not always on. I find that when I’m feeling creatively frustrated or uninspired, the best thing to do is take a break from what you’re doing and go for a walk. It could be around your neighborhood or down the street to get coffee.

Try to focus on things other than your project: look at people walking by, notice how tall buildings are blocking out sunlight in certain spots of the sidewalk, listen to conversations happening around you.

But in all cases, the key is getting away from what you’re doing so that your brain can process new ideas when you return.

Sometimes doing something different will give you new ideas and inspiration that will help you with your current project.
