Well put Norman. Not the kind of article that is going to be read a lot, I suppose. After decades of studying environment, economics, history… (being a crazy scholar) I realize how the implications of peak oil, EROI and such make sense and are consistent, but not to people who have never heard of these concepts. People who have only specialized in some field and conventional wisdom have a very vague sense of the interconnectedness of energy, resources, economics, or none at all.
And even MINT-scientifically proficient people and avid readers of science magazines believe that our current flow of crude oil is easily substitable by nuclear, solar, ingenious inventions…
