Look naysayers, this is a lot more than “free advice.” This is “research the hell out of their problem for a week.” It’s actually describing concretely what “team player” is. Taking the team’s biggest problem, as defined by the boss of the team, and exhaustively, objectively figuring out how to solve it. Something hard to do in the middle of a lot of your own work and problem-solving. A variation of this could also probably be written on “how to be a valued part of the team without having to go out drinking with young, white guys.”
