Fayette County, Iowa
Cody Weber

Cody, I read your article with interest, as many of these places are very familiar to me, having grown up just a few miles from the nonexistent town of Albany. Your photo of the ‘Albany’ cemetery is actually the gate to the Lima Cemetery [which it states on the overhead arch]. Apparently you completely missed the town of Lima, which is no longer there but there is a church which remains quite active in spite of not having regular services, and the cemetery you photographed is connected with that church, and the resting place of many of my family members. I have to agree that the hills and forests of NE Iowa hold a special beauty, quite different from the rolling hills and wide flat fields that people think of when you mention Iowa.
