2017 World Antibiotic Awareness Week

The Better Life for All Foundation (BLAF), a youth-led NGO, supported the World Health Organisation (WHO) in coordinating the 2017 World Antibiotic Awareness Week #2017WAAW. The foundation, organised grassroot awareness campaign on antibiotic misuse and antibiotic resistance in secondary schools within the Ibadan, Nigeria.

Awareness Campaign at Imam Zubair Modern College, 16th Nov. 2017

Massive awareness campaigns were conducted in Hillcrest High School, Bodija, and Imam Zubair Modern College, Barika, all in Ibadan, Nigeria, on the 16th of November 2017. Also, awareness campaign was conducted at Abiodun Metropolitan School, Barika, Ibadan, Nigeria, on November 17th, 2017. Through these campaign programmes, school pupils and staffs were sensitised on personal hygiene, smart use of antibiotics and the dangers associated with antibiotic resistance. The programme brought about informed attitudinal changes in pupils and staffs of the different schools visited.
