Looks like Quora and Medium started on opposite ends of the spectrum and are meeting.

Medium started blogging and is slowly moving to shorter-form with long-form responses, e.g. Q/A. Quora started Q/A and moved in to blogging.

Both have the most conflated distribution systems on the planet. You can follow people, collections, and soon, tags. Looks a lot like Quora where you can follow people, topics or boards.
