If one couldn't create, who knows what would be ones fate.

The act of creating or making something from many parts or from nothing, is unlike any feeling. It gives us control, let’s us express freely and in anyway which we please. This is the power of creation, and I am completely intoxicated with the act of creation.

For myself it is writing. Whether it is outlining for a story, trying to figure out which word fits at the end of a poem, or writing articles about tasty food I saw on a baking show. I love it to bits, all of it.

If you are someone who feels the need, the absolute pull of creation on your heart. May I give you some advice? As someone who is still learning basic writing skills but loves every minute of it, let me tell you. If you don’t create something, make something, you will die.

I’ve been wracked by a kind of brokenhearted, empty-chesty, achy, sickness for years now. So much so that I’ve become one of those self-pitying depressed people that you see staring aimlessly at bus-stops. It’s not a good look.

Basically my sorry self for the last 10 years. (Photo by Ethan Sykes on Unsplash)

BUT I escaped, I’ve fled from this heartbreak, and all I needed was to put pen to paper. For me, It has been the same feeling of relief that religious people feel when they know God loves them, and that all will be right. Writing has completed me, my broken-heart has been healed.

It’s sad that many people will have to battle through a purposeless life. So may I offer even more advice, aside from create something or you die?

Try everything, and for more than a day or two. Many creative people believe there is only one thing they should do in life. This is probably not the reality, as a creative person, your job is to explore all modes of expression.

You're one of the lucky ones, most people are not creative and the Muses do not whisper in their ears. So fulfill your need to create, in any which way. Then you will feel happy to wake up.
