How to Be a Goddess

It’s easier — and more fun — to change the way you think about your environment, mindset, and community with a Goddess at the helm.

*I use the she/her pronoun but goddess is a loose term to describe creative energy and doesn’t belong to a gender. Substitute with the appropriate title as you see fit.

Last night I dreamt about an old boyfriend. He showed up for a surprise visit while I was doing my makeup in a hotel bathroom. I was thrilled to see him. Perhaps the vision was prompted by excitement at the new Marvel’s Studio movie Eternals, I’m obsessed with all things goddess, or I have unfinished business keeping my mind in the past.

After all, this is the same guy who lied to me, stole my money, and cheated while I was, coincidentally, listening from a bathroom. (If you’ve been following my blog, 1001 Nights in Las Vegas, I’m talking about Taz.)

In my dream, what we’d done to each other became amusing anecdotes. We laughed. We hugged. Where animosity used to live, gratitude thrived. There was no resentment, bitterness, or distrust. The shitstorm we co-created became the impetus for growing into the woman I’d always wanted to be: a living, breathing goddess who not only loved herself, but made room for others to love her past her wildest dreams.
