As a security professional, many of you have done the CEH but the value of CEH is not as good as when 5 years ago. Reasons are the dumps available for the CEH. But it can be used to clear the HR filters to get the interview.

But the best thing about CEH is if you are brand new then it can introduce you to all aspects of security by theory like network, web, cloud, IoT, forensics, etc.

After completed CEH, I was planning for the practical certification so I came to know CEH has a practical exam that requires the CEH theory exam to be passed. Again CEH practical will require me to pay $500 to appear in the exam or I can go for the PTS course from eLearnSecurity. That cost me $319 during the launch period of the PTS by availing the discount.

In the case of eJPT, they are more focus on the particular domain be it network or web. So you have chosen which domain you want to excel in before choosing the course from eLearnSecurity.

eJPT is practical certification whereas CEH is mostly theoretical.

The pattern of eJPT is twenty MCQ, which we can at least 15 answers correctly to pass the certification. You have 3 days to perform the black box testing for the certification. Based on the testing, we can answer the questions. Every topic or technique learn in the PTS program is so sufficiently covered. I was amazed by the coverage of how they accommodate all the topics in 20 MCQ. Be it enumeration, footprinting, exploiting.

3 days are more than sufficient for the testing. I have completed certification in 7 hours and receive the message “ Congratulations! You are now an eJPT !”.

At last, you can decide, which is better to suit your career to excel while working the corporate environment as Security Consultant?
