My wife uses a Windows notebook and I end up being the tech support for her. The difference between MBP and WinNotebook is stark: The key ones being:
- As soon as you open up a MBP it is ready for use.
- MBP connects to WiFi without fuss.
- The battery does last all day for my use case.
- The case survives the various bumps and bruises of travel.
For comparison, the Windows Notebook, compared to the above:
- You open it up, and it decides that it must apply a security update right now.
- Gets confused as to how to connect to the WiFi, suggests running diagnostics.
- Lucky if I can get 2.5 hours use on a fully charged battery.
- Case is chipped, the screen hinge is wonky and a corner has cracked off.
So to answer your title question, which some readers suggest you have overlooked, I think the answer is simple:
With a Apple Mac you get stuff done without any distractions or delays.
BTW: I have tried Linux on several notebooks. It is disappointing experience because the underlying hardware is nowhere near the quality of an Apple.
