Good afternoon everyone!
It has been a long while that I do not post any review here. I owe you guys my deepest apology for my procastination and as well as tight schedule. But now I am back!
This time, I will take you to Osaka. If you heard about Lilo Coffee Roaster before, this is one of their sister branches that has just been newly opened.
The location of this cafe is near Dotonbori (the glico man billboard landmark), one of the most famous spot in Osaka for shopping. From the landmark to the shop takes around 4 minutes by walking.

Located in the second floor, the cafe has only 1 floor with 22 seats. The day I visited, I had talked to Yuka-san, this cafe’s barista who has her famous uniqueness of wearing Kimono. I asked that why they (Lilo’s team) decided to open the new branches. She told me that because they want to create the new atmosphere which is different from their first branch that is coffee stand. For they, the coffee stand concept creates the feeling of rushing which customers come to grab a cup of coffee and then go. This new branch will use the concept of Kissa (喫茶) — which is the Japanese styled cafe. Customers who come to visit this branch will be able to chill and enjoy their coffee without feeling the pressure to be hastened. The decoration is based on European design and mainly furnished with the wooden furnitures and bricks. The curtains is lace style which allow the soft light ray to pass through it. Overall the garnishment establishes the serene environment which is suitable for its concept.

Of course, this cafe’s coffee has the same high standard with its original branch — Lilo Coffee Roaster — where it gets its coffee bean. This branch has several ways of brewing — pour over paper drip, aeropress, american press, espresso, cold brew, and siphon. What attracted me the m0st would be siphon. Apart from the beverage and snack, this cafe also sell its roasted bean as well as brewing equipment.

This time, I had tried two cups of coffee. One is medium roasted Kenya bean brewed by siphon method (650 yen). The smell is like nut coated with caramel. The taste is quite blunt mixed with nut taste followed with juicy sour taste mixed with honey-like sweet. Another cup is dark roasted Columbia bean brewed by cold brew method (550 yen). The smell is quite unique due to its container is brass cup which together with the coffee smell creating mint chocolate scent. The body is heavy and strong. The taste is mainly bitter with the small amount of sweetness at very last. The aftertaste is still quite bitter that stuck at my tongue though.
