Infosys CEO’s Views On Blockchain & Metaverse

Blockchain & Metaverse came to the spotlight (again) after Infosys CEO & MD, Mr. Salil Parekh, talked about their dynamic transformations at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos. He mentioned that these two technologies are the two focus areas the MNC is setting foot on. In addition, he said that interest in quantum computing and metaverse would probably increase in the coming years.

The man believes that the metaverse is a potential technology contributing to the organization’s growth and structure. He said, “We are already putting in the foundation blocks that we can start to work with clients on.”

Mr. Parekh also briefed on the real-world applications of the metaverse, forecasting that its use cases will enter the manufacturing and retail sectors soon compared to other industries. Lending information on the blockchain, he revealed that Infosys uses this distributed ledger technology to process transactions between countries and institutions.

Finally, when questioned about the company’s plans for increasing profitability and worldwide adoption in the next five years, the CEO said, “lots of change is happening,” adding, “Clients are ready to look at Digital afresh. And to match it, Infosys has building capabilities that are relevant to clients. Additionally, Infosys Cobalt has a profound cloud capability in the market.”
